The gong stand is painted on one side with an image of Kharchheri, who is Bodhisattva that has endeared himself to the noosphere of the Nepalese. The Collective Consciousness of our High Altitudes. Kharchheri is white in colour, with four arms. He carries a Buddhist rosary (prayer) in his right hand and a well blossomed lotus (consciousness) in his left. His other two principal hands are in front of his fourth chakra, with his palms positioned in Namaskar Mudra holding a Jewel (knowledge).  EACH GONG STAND IS HAND PAINTED AND SO SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT, THOUGH THE DESIGN IS THE SAME.  EACH GONG IS MADE FROM WHAT IS KNOWN IN NEPAL, AS "BELL METAL." IT IS HAND-HAMMERED TO GET THE RIM. AND THEN EACH GONG IS HAND-ETCHED AS WELL.  EACH ONE OF THESE INCREDIBLE GONG STANDS IS HAND-CARVED AND HAND-PAINTED BY ARTISANS IN KATHMANDU, WHO, AS FAR AS WE CAN TELL, ARE CONNECTED TO THE MOUNTAIN PEAK ENERGY THAT SHOOT FROM THE HIMALAYAS. IT COURSES THROUGH THEIR BODIES, THEIR FINGERS AND INTO THE TOOLS AND INTO THE WOOD.
