CALL THEM SUPERBALL MALLETS, SUPER RUBS, FLUMIES, WHATEVER YOU LIKE, THEY MAKE AMAZING NOISES ON GONGS.

Not every gong is a simple "hang and bang" instrument. Unique tones can be coaxed out of gongs from what is called Friction.

And who was the first to really pay attention to friction?
We call him Leonard DaVinci, who when he wasn't painting things focused a lot of his attention on 21st Century Gong Players and what they would need.

Did you know that Leonardo DaVinci (NOT DiCaprio) was one of the first to study friction. He knew how important friction is for the workings of machines. And he loved MACHINES. DiCaprio more loves MODELS. That is but one of their differences. DaVinchi focused on ALL KINDS of friction, and was the first to describe a distinction between sliding and rolling friction.
