But let's be clear, the service takes a LITTLE EXTRA TIME.
Most of the year it takes an extra week.
At certain parts of the year our engravers are so busy, it can take 10 days.
NO OVERNIGHT ORDERS for engraving! Sorry.
But it's not that expensive!
Engraving Basics:
Any regular English letters or numbers we can do without much from you. We have many fonts available.
If you want Asian ideograms or kanji, OR you want your business logo engraved, we need them in a file format called "eps"... your graphics dept or computer pals can help you with this. (JPEGS just don't cut it. Though we can do Adobe Illustrator and PDF usually.)
We ALSO can take certain images and prepare them, redraw them with our highly trained monkey artists, for engraving into an eps file, but it adds a little to the price because of time.
General Gong Engraving fees:
to give you a general idea...
it all depends on the time it takes them to do it.
They can be less than what is shown below.
Complex designs can cost more.
For small gongs the engraving fees are anywhere from 40 to 55 dollars.
For medium gongs the engraving fees can be about 60 to 75 dollars.
For large gongs the engraving fees can be about 75 to 100 dollars.
Once again, it depends on how complex the art work is.
you could have a large gong with simple artwork and its not too bad. Or a small gong with difficult art and that would be more.
ALSO MARTIAL ARTS FOLKS- If you want to engrave a dragon drawing, with a lot of scales, expect to pay a lot. Scales on a dragon take a lot of time.
How we charge for your gong and the engraving:
We do it usually with two charges.
One for the gong and shipping, and then a second one once we know the engraving and repolishing cost. We totally keep you in the loop the whole way.
Engraving can't be done on every gong we sell.
But MOST of our gongs can be engraved, if you want.
