We call this our Dark Star Gong because of it's tone and look. (You can find links to the sound files below.)
And we call this Gong Stand our Siheyuan Gong Stand.
We have named it after the Classic Chinese Architecture of the Quadrangle of (4) Buildings surrounding an inner courtyard.

Why? Because this Gong Stand is made of four simple pieces that you attach with a screwdriver. And the gong rests comfortable in the courtyard of their protection.

Working from a base of a Chau Gong, the metal rises differently, and the gong is lathed and polished only in the center, to give a solid musical note to enhance the space-related tones you can get from it.
